No questions are silly

good socket set

lhm similar yes and qty, 3 or 4 ltrs for bleeding through etcc

oil ok

don't need exotic plugs, cx turbos are plug sensitive the correct ngk will do gapped to 0.8

filter can be a bit of a bast'd, its on the back of the motor and accessible from underneath 'get a few carrier bags ;) screw it loose, encapsulate with the bag to catch the oil spill as you remove it fully :)

could always give us a knock as you drive by I live in Hull :) and if time mutual I could have a look with you :) contribution for fuel accepted :)

I could take up bits n bobs to try if theres a problem or two...

Dear me, now there's a generous offer!! :D
[SwissSPEC, IF I WERE YOU, I'D BITE NEIL'S HAND OFF!!]
It'll be running in no time...

It always amuses me how the toppest-of-the-range Citroen of the day,
shared it's spark plug with the base spec model - yes, the dear ol' 2CV!!

BTW, I've found NGK's are the best and it's B6HS!!

Cheers Neil, that's damn generous of you which i may very well take you up on your kind offer. It would certainly be great to get an expert to give the old gal a lookover to spot any impending issues etc... I think she's in very good nick for her age, but lack of experience with these beasts means that i'll probably not spot & overlook stuff. Not sure when i'm going to get over, hopefully in a month or 2, so i'll drop you a pm to see if you are about, will cgat be doing a run, or does she only come out in summer when its sunny :D

Cheers for the spark plug model andrew & i would never have guessed which other humble citroen it shares them with  Mind you, it is an ancient pushrod design from the ds isn't it?

:) CGAT is on limited mileage, and only used in the summer. she has had several winter trips to the NEC and not shy of the weather..

I will be using my 19TGD or the wife's picasso :) you would not want the CX fuel bill ;)

Hmmm, yes tell me about what a cx petrol bill is going to be like  I'm probably not going to be doing many miles & will insure the car on a classic car policy anyway. Now if i was doing my usual 40 mile round trip to work & back, i might start crying if i was getting 15-20mpg rather than my usual 50mpg  so gawd only knows what your beast is doing neil , so the bx is fine with me

If only i could, i can't remember the last time a decent one was for sale, they all look very abused with high miles. I did spot that metalic blue coloured (fave colour) clonker which i think was on sale about 1-2yrs ago for about £500, but it just looked rubbish & i thought i'd be spending about a grand a year just to keep it on the road which tbh isn't much fun if its off the road most of the time with welding etc.....

Actually, lpg was something that i might possibly look into when i get her back on the road, we'll see.

There's no accounting for taste

I do like that style of blue colour, its kinda bright without being chavvy. Now a bright yellow cx, now that would be interesting

...I personally really like the Audi blue, but it just didn't work at all on the CX - strange how some colours don't 'work'.

...that can be arranged!

Neil, i do like that/those colour(s), mine in comparison is a boring shade of white  Now if it was a modern metalic white, then i think it would be the dogs boxxocks 8-) But seeing as the car was gifted to me, i can't really moan
