my car has died? any help with a cylinder head

Unread post by pugsick »

Hi, new(ish) to the forum so please bear with me. I have a 04/54 Peug 407 2.0 HDi 16v. Despite spending a small fortune trying...(and still trying) to solve the various fault codes i have got a bigger problem... An inlet valve has dropped causing a piston to pop and i also need a new cylinder head. If anyone can advise me of where to go/ or where to find one i would be most grateful. Any help much appreciated..... ps mileage had just turned 150k..

I agree with an engine swop,by your tale of woe that is what you need anyway. An inlet valve just does not drop?or a piston "pop" ? has the cambelt failed? If you do find someone with a complete engine they wont just sell you the head.If you do find an engine "Tidy" it up before fitting, new cambelt, remove and clean out sump, new filters etc.Its so easy to do this "on the bench". best of luck.

I was going to ask if the cambelt was to blame, especially as they are supposed to last 150K on this engine.
