Helping my disabled partner in and out, The high setting is a boon. Sitting in traffic doing Citaerobics is guaranteed to cause consternation from those behind!
Loading the boot with the lowest setting selected is a joy!

Was'nt it Vanny that used to hook the supermarket carriers with his BX late evenings - using Citaerobic ?
Have to try this - sneaking up on an old lady loading her trunk [8D][8D]
Springtime does this ? [:D][:D][:D]

...loading 500kgs of telecomms equipment in the back, watching the onlookers think "boy, that looks heavy - how's that going to handle?"
Then, fire up,...sheeeeeeesshhh "click".
Off we go..
You can't do that in a Ford..
ahhh... :-))

I would love to get an old cit, and load it up till it puked green yuk everywhere[xx(].
I reckon a ton of concrete slabs should do it. Anybody tried it?

Reversing up to horse trailer with Xantia already in low. Just touch bumper on hitch and pull forwards 2" so the ball is spot on. Select normal height and get out of car.
Delay in hydraulics allows just enough time to plug in lights and hook over safety chain before pulling up on hitch handle as car slowly lifts ball into hitch.
Pop up jockey wheel and away!
As you say r, try doing that with a Ford.

I think it was Vanny who found an extra use for his citaerobics - using his BX as a can crusher.... Also works well as a number-plate mangler if you park the nose of your BX too close to your brother's discarded 15-year-old Singer Chamois engine block in a part of the garage that time forgot.

I wonder what the maximum weight ever carried in a hydropneumatic Cit is?
Oh, and Mr Woollard...it's on your recommendation that I got dragged into this addictive craziness anyway....

Hmm yes but an XM was an extra brave move. Just remember pleasure=pain!
Regarding weight.... Remember taking our old BX TZD Estate down the field and spending the morning chain sawing a particularly dense wood. With the seats folded flat filled the whole load space almost to the roof. Gooodness knows what it weighed but after inflating the rear tyres to 40psi it drove back up the 0.5 mile track perfectly.
I remember pondering then as to what weight the hydraulics would lift.

Cannot get anyone to lend me their car for this, but I think the limiting factor would be the pump belt slipping
