Dosn't seem to add-up as the DHX should be a 1.9TD XU9TF by all accounts!
with a catalytic converter and an EGR system.

DESCRIPTION
It is an engine in our school shop class
we only have the engine on a crane and not the chassis or gear..
I'm trying to identify the car model so we can locate data about
synchronizing the Bosch diesel fuel pump with the timing belt
and try to run the engine..
We have a version of Aldoc software but alas, it has no search capability by engine serial only by car make model and year..
There are timing holes in the cam and pump pulleys, that take M6 bolts if memory serves (or M8).
Behind the starter motor is the timing access hole for the flywheel.
As the pump's advance/retard is controlled to some extent by the ECU, you'll need to have that connected, otherwise the pump goes to full advance.
Also, the pump will have an immobiliser, which will be armoured, and controlled either by keypad or transponder.
If you've just got the engine hanging on a crane, I'd imagine you'll have trouble starting the engine.
You'll have to take the pump off (try and mark where it sits on the engine), de-armour and de-immobilise it, put it back on using the marks you made before so the general pump timing should be ok, time the cam, flywheel and pump (if the engine is going to be used in a car rather than just scrapped or used for future students, also replace the water pump as they don't like having the belt changed), top up the coolant, connect a fuel source, connect a 12v feed to the stop solenoid, then 12v to the starter motor and stand well back!
