'53 Plate Scenic: Radio Display Problem

Hi,
The radio display on my '53 plate Renault Scenic doesn't always work. It VERY rarely comes on when I turn the radio on, then will just spring into life while I'm driving. I've also noticed that the remote stalk doesn't work until the radio display comes on.

Has anyone else had this problem, or now what is causing it?

I've pulled the radio out, and checked the connections, but they all seem sound, and I can't get to the ones behind the dash.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

hi there,what scenic is it you have?is it the one with the display with the clock in the centre of the dashboard'?let me know more details of your scenic and i can help cheers

Hi, it's a 1.6 megane scenic expression.

The radio display is the green one in the main display in the dash, next to the speedo, with the clock and temp on the right hand side.

Is that enough info, I can be more descriptive if you need.

i too have the same prob on me 52 plate 1.6 auto fiji . display not working in dash (orange) temp and time still work though, remote stalk not working either , put new battery on car and now cant get radio to work as i cant see the code !! help please

take the speaker grilles of the sides of the dashboard,unscrew both screws and tilt steering wheel down as far it goes,lift the top half of dashboard,remove the hex screws holding the centre display panel and unscrew the bulbs at the rear of the panel and fit new bulbs and thats it,it is dead easy cheers let me know if any problems

yup,
just as gazza said. he told me the exact same thing and it was a bit scary taking the dash off the front,but it was dead easy.
