Wanted: Old or leaking rams.

Unread post by handyman »

I have a potential source for either repairing leaking rams or supplying refurbished units. I need to give them a couple of defective rams for them to dismantle, repair and test.

Does anybody have either front or rear rams that are beyond service?

All my spare units are good usable units so I am loathe to send them away to be stripped.

Please PM me.

Are we likely to receive them back once/if repaired? And for free?

It's more the getting them back that I'm thinking about. I wouldn't mind paying if it was reasonable and likely to last!

DOMMO, I think Andrew has summed it up succinctly. Does a free lunch exist?

If you read the posting, I am asking for redundant rams as I want to see what this repairer can do. If the repairs or overhauls are good, then I can think about offering serviced units to the Activa forum, but that is a way away.

Handyman.

If there is any chance Handyman, then the repairer in question will be hailed as a hero in the eyes of us Activa owners :D :D

Dom, You can donate your leaky one I'm sure!!! It is only good for being a door-stop as it stands...

The only reason I'd want to keep it is for when/if he does start repairing them. Hence wanting to know whether I'd get it back!

Are you still looking for rams? I replaced my leaking front ram a while ago, believe I kept it. Would have to look into the price of getting it sent.

This has all been a bit overtaken by events really Simon.

But keep the ram, it's likely very amenable to repair.

Here's the guide on how to fix them...
