I've got the book form but I 'spect Jim has a software version. If not I'll scan it. What's the plan?
It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I'm right

when i drive the hdi i miss cruise control, and being as the cruise control is fairly basic i figure it shouldnt be toooo difficult to adapt for that.

(will be doing the same for the Cobra if all pans out)

I think you're going to fall at the first hurdle here Chris...

Is the HDi not a full fly by wire job? No throttle cable means you won't be able to do it..

Some engies already have the ball and bracketry there on the throttle drum, ready to go. The TCT engine is a prime case in point...

Apart from that, no big showstoppers..

i must correct you sir, the hdi is like the 2.1 in that it has an (albeit pointless) throttle cable :)

There IS a throttle cable Jim, it goes off over to the Throttle potentiometer thingy just below the Air Cleaner/LHM Tank!

Mounting the Vaccuum unit would be a small problem, you'd need to make a bracket somehow...

I do miss cruise, its the only real thing left off the Xantia Exclusive HDi spec.. infact, id swap hydractive for cruise anyday!!

C5's also have the same throttle setup by the way..

Thank you gentlemen, I stand corrected :D

Paul, your V6 has cruise and so do the Exclusive autos...

There, sorted. A V6 gives you both, no need to sacrifice one for the other and personally, give me hydractive over cruise any day...

Hydractive is good, Hydractive is great, We love Hydractive...

And unfortunally - the HDi in Xantias did NOT get auto!

Only the XUD - and they didn't. I think UK Spec, the only Xantia to get Cruise was V6 Exclusives, and 2.oi 16v Auto Engines...

Shame... Should have been fitted to the HDi Xantias...

I'm pretty sure that the only way to put cruise control onto a HDi Xantia will be to buy an after market kit, there's also the issue of insurance as from what I understand insurance companies take a dim view of aftermarket cruise control being fitted.

I've got a Series 1 V6 24v XM that I've just bought that I want to try and fit cruise control to.

Paul... Might be asking you for an idea of where the bits go on your 12v!
