Hello Simon, I too had seen the UK derived articles (seem to be "Connects2" brand). The Fleabay site you link to, is one of the cheaper for shipping.
It's just that I was hoping it might interchange with a better-known marque (in terms of the Australian car scene). It's amazing that things have taken so long to become even half-standardised!
The worst (funniest) part is the Aldi head unit pushing low grade Alfa speakers through 20 year old wiring, actually sounds distinctly better than the Sony in my Xantia.

Although I guess its new, I thought about degradation of wiring but you say you're using the old wiring. I guess audio components do degrade with time..
