Have just finished messing around with the steering column to try to remove the chatter i was experiencing which hopefully i have done? by removing the bottom link of the column, pinching up the clamp in a vice and then refitting (twice to get the steering wheel level!!).
No idea if it works yet as i have yet to road test the car however, i now have a new fault and it has something to do with what i have done today.
My car now displays an ESP/ABS fault which does not come on until you move the steering wheel.
I did not remove the steering wheel but it may have spun around a couple of times as i was trying to line up the steering??
Does anyone know what i have obviously knocked whilst under the dash on the O/S??
ESP/ABS - What have i done??

Since the fault appears when you turn the steering wheel, its probably linked to the steering wheel angle sensor which is in the comms2000 unit. This can be reprogrammed with a Lexia.
Let us know how you get on with the chatter, or lack of!

Hi Andy
Steering wheel angle sensor. I will be very interested in how you get on with this, With a Lexia the sensor can be (has to be) calibrated in the straight ahead position.
My interest is that having done that the results reading the wheel angle parameter are a bit strange at least on mine.
Now I don't know how this sensor actually works but I am guessing that it is now some degrees (360?) out I would be interested to know if with this degree of mechanical error it really can be re-calibrated using a Lexia .
