Xantia cruise control

Unread post by andmcit »

I have a nice 2.0i VSX auto with cruise control which I've never seen fitted
as standard on another one apart from a V6 and an aftermakket fitment
on an Activa so fancy removing it as the car will need to go to the crusher.

Does anyone know if the kit is standard Citroen and worth searching out on
the parts site to see how it's entrails can be founds and removed or is this
another aftermarket set up - the Activa one works nicely with genuine manual
box BTW. Not sure if I still have a valid service.citroen account.

Mine has cruise control fitted and on a recent journey to Scotland was great giving my right foot a well earned rest and also improving my m.p.g.

Long journey and you set your speed with the touch of your finger ...
That's kind of comfort which you would look for in every car 8-)

Mine has an Universal Cruise Control and I have seen same brand on a Peugeot.
Car model specific settings are made with dip switches which are in the control box.

Do you know the brand of your cruise control? You can get technical support from their web site.

The only UK Xantia's fitted with cruise control from the factory were 2.0 auto's and V6's so yours is more than likely an original fitment. The parts list will consist of the steering column stalk and loom, brake pedal switch, vacuum pump, the assembly that attaches to the throttle body, various hoses and whatever anyone else can think of!

Everyone forgets the control box and its specific mounting bracket!

Then the push switch, stalk, violet relay in the dash fusebox, vacuum line with convoluted plastic cover, bellows and fixings, cable, pump and regulator assembly with (from memory) two flanged M6 nuts.

Not on a MK1!!!! The relay in question is under the RH front wing in a box so big you could live in it!!!

The ECU is under the drivers seat attached to the inner sill.. Bit of a devil to get at although the connector can just be reached with the seat right forward...
