You know it wasn't until I met Danielle and Netta was giving me the silent treatment that I found out what "being sent to Coventry" meant

As for dates, we've got the Easter week booked down in a cottage in the New Forrest, so we're thinking (assuming the registry office and Bell can accomodate us) the weekend before, and then use the holiday as our honeymoon.

Danielle and I are staying at my parents' this weekend with a view of sorting Jenny for her MoT.

All has not gone to plan.
I'd bought new front discs shortly after getting her, and today I went to fit them.
My Halfrauds T55 bit snapped at the first attempt, but thankfully Jim had lent me his Torx set which had a whopping big T55, which with my breaker bar and constant pressure (and some plus gas) did the trick.
So with one old disc off, I matched it up to the new one and found out the new one was too small

I looked online and searched FCF, and the information I found confirmed the TD hatchback had the smaller discs, so Jenny has been fitted with the bigger calipers, perhaps as she's one of the last Mk 1s.

By the time I discovered all of this it was past 4, so everywhere was closed

Will phone motorserv tomorrow morning and hope.

The other failure was the O/S steering rack gator not being secure, so I called Jim to ask how best to tackle it. If it was just popped off, then reseat and fit a cable tie. If it's split then the fun starts

I dived under had a look.
Fantastic! The gator had just popped off, so I started to try and reseat it and then *oh no* my finger found a hole, and another

I've dowsed as much as I can in plus gas, and I'll be calling motorserv in the morning to see if they have the parts in stock.
If they do, great I'll get it fitted, if not, then I'll get on with replacing her scratched front bumper.

Xac, enjoy the gaiter.... They are serious fun...

If you're going to Motorserv, can you pick me up a gallon of antifreeze please? They do have the gaiters in stock but they're a tad pricey. £23...

As said on the phone, pop round and I'll show you how to do it.. I've done two now

Sorry Jim, won't be going to motorserv now.
Called them for a stock check, gave them Jenny's details and said £40 for the pair 266mm, I said I needed larger, no problem sir, that will be £100 for the pair.
I nearly fell off my chair!
So I'll be changing her bumper today and then get back and hopefully get Cassy back on the road.
Will get the discs from gsf.

Cassy's been running on the repaired pump and I have to say she seems more floaty and her brakes feel even better!

Defintely will have to replace Juliet's pump.

Off to Cambridge this afternoon, and Leatherhead tomorrow so will be checking all bolts are tight still tonight.

Just took Cassy to ATS in Leatherhead to have her alignment checked.
14 degrees out! One laser was pointing at the bodywork rather than the target!
They straightened it up but I'll have to go back to one nearer to home as the steering wheel is right hand down a bit, though the car travels straight free handed.
First job come payday is new tyres, they're ok for a few months due to the wear being on the edge but I'm not putting up with them any longer than I have to.

If it's tracking straight but the wheel's a bit off centre, then just adjust both track rods yourself by the same amount (but opposite hands!) to centre the wheel. If you're right hand down a bit, then you need the wheel to go left. This will have the effect of shortening the LH rod and lengthening the RH one. So, to correct you need to lengthen the LH rod and shorten the RH one. Just go one flat at a time till the wheel comes right (so to speak....).

Well I'm miffed.
Not only did ATS not keep the steering wheel straight but the also didn't put one of the wheel hubs back on properly so now I'm one down and it took me years to find these ones. grrr

I have some nice Exclusive alloys you could have Xac

No worries about lost wheeeltrims with those....

Fitted the relay mod to Cassy's starter motor while at Finmere yesterday.

Indeed, I MUST do that on my V6. No worries about glow worms being an endangered species - they're alive and well in my V6

IIRC when I tested my voltages they weren't too bad, kicking out over 12v. We reckon its probably tired reflectors. Time to replace the headlight bulbs with fork handles*, will probably work much better!

Seriously though. Although the light has a slight yellow tint, it isn't all that bad.

*If some members don't get that, go and watch some proper comedy!
