Thanks Will. That's just reminded me of the things I saw last winter. Might invest in some just in case - they'll probably be in stock now. :D

I've seen something like that on e-bay but i can't help but wonder how long they would last, i do approx 200 miles per week, mainly on the motorway & i really don't fancy having them on my wheels, i can't imagine they'd last long, besides if i recall correctly there limited to quite a moderate speed limit. We've had a couple of foreign car owners visit us recently (one of which was a mk1 xsara) & they were after snow tyres which we didn't stock but i suspect 'the management' have got wind of it & were to start stocking them soon, it'll be interesting to see if they sell!
Music keeps me going.

I imagine they are a bit like snow chains in that you have to remove them when not on snow? I don't like the idea of those, in a tricky situation they might be a handy thing to have in the boot, so long as they are easy and quick to fit.

Winter tyres seem more reliable and will help out with wet weather driving too.

Yeah IIRCD the idea is that you only use them when the road is iced or snowed at which point you shouldn't be going more than 30mph anyway as the poor traction would make it feel like one of those slow motion crash's you see on telly :(

Stick them on when you lose grip and when you get back on to mainly terra firma take them off :)

Ah Malcolm, I was going to send you a PM this evening.

On the FCFIC front, Toby_HDI could pick up from Chicester and also I've had an offer from Jim around Andover. You don't happen to be travelling around there anytime soon?

If not, I guess we're looking at some sort of non FCF courier service. I'll have to look into that as I've never used one before for anything bulky, any recommendations?
