hydraulic hose leaking on power steering

C5 1.6 hdi 2005 90,000 miles
i notice that i have a hydraulic hose starting to leek on engine side of wheel arch. the prpe is coming from the steering pump. the hose is crimped to a steel pipe close to the radiator and another crimp behind the drive shafts. the hose look like it is cover in a pipe lagging. the one on the passanger side has the leak, fresh oil and the RHS pipe is wet with oil but more a weap, not fresh oil

can these hoses be replaced or has the complete assembly to be replaced.?
I dont see any instruction in the haynes manual for replacing these - are they specialised?

On the passenger side there is as i remember a join, basically it is one pipe assembly from the pump to where the steering valve would have been on a LH drive car, then because this is RH drive the pipe is extended to the steering valve. I think that the "join" is a union type connection in which case if it is leaking from there a judicous amount of tightening might do the trick. Apart from that the crimping of the flexible hose to the bits of metal pipe is crap at least on mine and I think what happens is that oil gets forced down between the outer cover and inner rubber causing a degree of weeping. Nothing can be done about this and my suspicion is that new pipes from Citroen would be no better, so providing it remains at just very low levels of weeping I don't see much point in worrying to much about it.

the RH side has a weep as you describe. The LHS has about an eggcupl of oil on the ground parked at work for the day.
does the whole assembly (pipe and Flex hose ) come as 1 unit.
an it be changed easly or dores it need to go to the dealer?

I think that we need to clarify things here you talk RH / LH side of the car but it is not clear to me if that is RH as sitting in the seat or RH as looking in from the front.

However the high pressure pipe from the pump to the steering valve is a one piece pipe. The low pressure pipe running down the LH side of the car from the steering valve back to tank is in two pieces.

Just had an advisory on mine

Noticed a bit of a weep a few months ago when replacing front tyres.

RHS ( driver side ) is the pipe with what you call a weep. The pipe is generally covered in dirt with oil in it, LHS passenger is where the leak is. had a closer look this evening, the pipe passes under the gear box. it has a machine crimp on the passanger compartment side of the gearbox. this look fine. the other end (near radiator) is where the leak is the crimp here is of a clip type, more like what you would see on a water pipe to the rad not on a pressure pipe.
if it in 2 pieces where is the split at this clip crimp?
