dash display scenic

hi, we got a renault scenic last week,03 plate 1.6 16v fidji........ now the dash display is really poor,the one in the middle I mean that tells you the radio statio,outside temp,etc. sometimes it's readable,other times it goes off altogether. not really a problem,just annoying.Is this an expensive fix? or best just to leave it??thanks......................

Whats wrong with it exactly?

Is the display pixels broken or is it simply the light which has gone out?

I'd agree sounds like a burning bulb (as in blackened) or it being loose etc in its fixing (possibly both)

I can't visualise how many bulbs these have in (at a guess two or three) , replacing those will (hopefully) cure the issue.

well, as I say, sometimes the display can be seen.although very dimly,other times,you cannot see anything at all. the pixels all appear fine when you can actually see the display so maybe it;s the bulbs.Are they difficult to get at and change on these? thanks for your help people..........

hi there,i used to have a scenic years ago,its the bulbs that need replacing
dead easy job simply prise of the dashboard speaker grilles and remove the screws,tilt steering wheel right down and simply pull top half of dash towards u,the display unit is screwed on,remove the display unit and the bulbs are behind it,its dead easy must admit took me 10 mins to change all the bulbs and put it back 2gether cheers not an expensive job never if you know how to take top half of dashboard off.
