I have a RX4 1.9 DCI. The problem i have is the engine wont rev above 3000rpm.
I have had everything off the engine and checked as much as i can. It seems like the car is stuck in limp home mode all the time.
There is no engine management light on etc, everything is as it should be.
I have had the car plugged in today and the only fault we could find is, Low power supply to ecu (Memory)
I dont have the fault code to hand.
Any sugestions on how i can trace or solve the problem.
Thanks

Thanks for that.
So far i have cleaned out the EGR valve twice and i cannot find anything wrong with it.
Do you know of anyway of testing it?
The car had been running fine for ages. Then i left it sitting about for about 1 1/2 year just starting it now and again.
but when i finally got round to getting it in for an MOT i had this problem.
Cheers

I'm guessing it's a diesel? I've no idea what a RX4 1.9 DCI is but it's a D blah blah blah!
Petrol car/bike fuel,as you probably know, goes off /varnishes etc,if not used, and needs the carbs/jets (older models), etc cleaning,
Does diesel 'go off',gunk the system up?
Or 'low power supply to ecu' - electrics furred up a bit, need cleaning?

have you cleaned out the housing for the egr valve as the f9q engine suffers with the 2 holes clogging up, if you have just 2 terminals on the egr you can wire them up to a 12v car battery but you have to keep switching polarity so it goes on and off , i think though it may be your air flow meter, take it off and inspect the internal sensors for corrosion or even a broken terminal, it should have a very small wire bridging across the diodes.aaron fleming wrote:Thanks for that.
