Activa V6 at Stratford...

Unread post by CitroJim »

Today at Stratford, we were able to closely look at an Activa V6 conversion carried out by BL Autos.

It was on a very, very tidy late green MK2 and no word of a lie you could not tell in any way it was a conversion. It looked just like a factory job.

Excellent and very impressive :D Not only was the engine subject to an upgrade, the whole car received a lot of Exclusive bits including cream leather interior. It may even have had cruise control.

Maybe the ultimate Xantia. Activa, V6, all the Exclusive bits and manual gearbox :P

Disagree, combine a silky smooth V6 with the luxury of an Exclusive and the immense cornering capability of Activa and you have a very unique car.

I agree :D Even Roger Bradford was heard to mutter that it was a very desirable combination indeed.

My absolute ultimate would be as above but in an estate....

I still maintain the ultimate would be ES9J4S (XFX) V6, 406 Coupe with Activa suspension... :D

I will happily concede that point Toby and heartily agree 8-)

Of course, that was what the 406 Coupe was intended to be - the Citroen Activa...

That's an interesting little site Richard :D

See here on Julian Marsh's site the clear relationship between the Activa2 prototype and what became the 406 Coupe...

Another well-aimed shot straight through the foot

Momo xantia steering wheel,

You can get XM ones like that, have a look on ebay.de The Germans go mad for that type of thing.
Activa should have stayed in its coupefied XM test platform and been given a manual box and a venturi's prv 24v Bi-turbo lump but whatever Laughing
I would love one of those, but can you imagine how unreliable it would have been  The launch XMs were bad enough let alone adding all the Activa goodness to them.

Back to the accessories. What on earth is this meant to be?

Mobile phone mount bracket?

Note that the dash in the photo is a S2 and in place of the airbag is a secondary glovebox above the usual one.

It's a spoiler for the air vent :)

Increases the aerodynamics of it and gives a nice laminar airflow straight into the passengers face...

Did non-passenger airbag MK2s ever appear on the UK market? That second glovebox looks useful as well as giving better access (possibly) to the body computer...
