I don't think that I could pick one as there are so many great driving songs!
I do have to admit though that if I fancy a really relaxed drive I have an enya album in the cd changer.
It's amazing how music can really change your mood or even alter your driving style 8-)

Orange Blossom Special - pretty much any instrumental version. You'll arrive sooner, guaranteed!

Mostly I drive with the radio off; if I want music I sing (not too well!).

I have too many to mention really.

If I'm enjoying a blast round some B roads: 10cc - Rubber Bullets, Cozy Powell - Dance With The Devil, Deep Purple, most Focus tracks (though especially Hocus Pocus), The Who, AC/DC, Muse, ELO, T. Rex

Just for cruising though there is The Eagles, Snow Patrol, Sigur Rós, and Dire Straits

Thats not an exhaustive list by any means either  Thats just what I can recall as having in the changer...

I usually listen to my albums in the car when I do a longer trip, so there is plenty of Pink Floyd and Marillion in there too; albums that need to be listened to in their entirety to be appreciated better.

More Than A Feeling by Boston.

Here it is being "scrubed up," from an episode of Scrubs!

While this shows the band performing it.

Which was from the movie FM.

The title music was sung by Steely Dan.

Check out the sax appeal on Steely Dans song!

If you like the Dan you might like this - a tragic story behind her but she's with Jeff Lynn/ELO now.

I like a good few of the tracks on 'Dark Passion Play', my favorite have to be 'Amaranth' and 'Poet and the Pendulum'. Though its unfair to say I just like that album as I haven't really listened to any of the other ones!
How about yourself?

I've not got the album you mention, but I'll find and have a listen, album wise "century child" is very good, tracks from that album everdream and slaying the dreamer, and dead to the world are personal fav. Also like from other albums tracks Nemo and Wishmaster are definitely worth a listen.

On a general notes liking a lot of the songs suggested here. No one mentioned any Hendrix tracks yet, crosstown traffic being an obvious contender.

I've got to agree that Boston's more than a feeling is one of the top driving songs.

Wind Cries Mary is on my MP3 player :D

That's my favourite all-time Hendrix track. Speaking of Hendrix, I alos have three versions of Little Wing on there too, Hendrix's, Clapton's (Derek and the Dominoes) and a cover by the Corrs from their Live in Dublin album. The Corrs version is excellent..

Back to driving songs, Wanted, Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi or perhaps if mechanical problems are evident, Livin' on a Prayer...

Same here, along with "The Burning Of The Midnight Lamp", both so full of quiet desperation.
And "1983.." not really for driving, more for quiet contemplation.

If you like "Little Wing" check out Tuck & Patti
