Do 2.1TD Xantiae have a hydraulic clutch?

Unread post by andmcit »

Do these have the hydraulic clutch and cable operated gearchange as
some HDi and the Activae do. I have a massive blind spot on 2.1TD's?

In the Xantia I believe they have a hydraulic clutch but unfortunately not in the XM :(

Yep, I believe they have the same nice set up as the Activas.

Are you getting Pazzauk's 2.1 Andrew?

With the 2.1 engine Peter, No, but with the 2.5 engine the box was fitted with hydraulic clutch... no protentially the 2.1 can have hydraulic...

As for andrews Q, the 2.1 was the forerunner to the HDi, I beleve the box's with fit either engine.. besides, after seeing a 2.1 in a dismantled state, the box was Hydraulic'ly operated identical to the HDi 110bhp system.

Hi Paul

Does that mean you could fit the hydraulic system to the 2.1? Not that I need it on the white one, it still feels as though there is nothing on the end of the cable :D but it would be useful if I get another one.

Have a word with Franklin - he's breaking that blue 2.5 estate which will have
the hydraulic clutch with the master and slave cylinders.

I must say I really do prefer driving the manual Citroen cars that have the
light hydraulic clutch - it's much smoother too.

Hi Andrew

I have one with such a light clutch its hard to believe, its almost worth taking it apart to find out why, I'm pretty sure it must be the wrong one but it grips perfectly. I have had six others that you need both feet to push it out. I certainly don't need a conversion for this one but maybe for another.
