just tried to get a new plip, cos the rubber buttons on mine have rotted away. Peugeot inform me that it will cost me sixty quid to replace the whole plip as they no longer do a replacement case for the older " thick " type plip, and the newer " thin " type cases do not fit. I was about to drop my trousers and be thorourly shafted by peugeot spares department, when i thought,"sod it. I wonder if i can make it fit". Pulling my corduroys back up, i approached spares again and ordered the newer case to be told i was wasting my money.
At home armed with a posidrive screwdriver i set to make it fit. Remove the screw, pop the plip in half. Carefully remove its guts and replace it into the new half with the buttons.Snap this assembly onto your old thicker body, would you believe it, fits like a glove. Replace screw. You now have new rubber buttons on your plip. Cost of new case, five quid
