Having recently been getting a tad fed up of the way my Coupe handles, that old hairbrained scheme has surfaced......fitting the Activa setup to the Coupe.
Now, I know it would be a hell of a lot of work and very likely unfeasable but what would I need to take into account?
So far:
Somewhere to mount the hydraulic pump
Making up hydraulic lines and routing them appropriately and replacing brake lines (possibly ABS unit too which opens up a new can of worms)
Reservoir
Rams, struts and electrovalves
Hydractive ECU and its various sensor feeds
I'm thinking the turrets would need modifying? How about the subframes? Have probably missed a huge list of things there but that is as far as I've got so far.
I imagine that the mechanical side of it would be enough to put paid to the idea, let alone the electrics.
This is probably just going to be an exercise in referring Toby to the loony bin but I am curious. Its certainly an appealing idea if it could be done. Yes I know what you're thinking.....just buy some new shocks. Well yes, I probably will end up doing that but as I say, I'm curious.

Yep, you're a mad lunatic Toby!
You're forgetting the additional rods than run off the adapted lower wishbones
and the rear ARB need adding into the mix too. What kind of rear suspension
subframe does the coupe use as this would need to be matched up. Would this
hybrid have hydractive or soggy dampers too...
then there's the hydraulic feeds and the associated pressure feeds/relief...
the list is long and complex especially onto a car that's never been designed
to run hydraulics. Then there's the steering/speed sensors...
sure you fancy rebuilding two cars into one?

Do you remember the old Pug 206 advert where an Indian lad had a Hindustan Ambassador and "modified" it by various means to look like a 206? You could do that.
Seriously Toby, you're talking of a total rebuild here and it's not really a practical proposition . It could be done but at huge expense and with an uncertain outcome.
You'd be better off transplanting a V6 engine and transmission into the Activa.
Mind you, if you did achieve your goal and make a 406 Coupe Activa, you would have what was originally intended. The plan was to do exactly what you'd like to do; Citroen intended it to be the Activa before Peugeot scuppered the plan
Just imagine. It would have been brilliant...
