FYI Admins; Forum, slow response
This is forum feedback for the admins...
There appears to be some serious delays from the forum server, often leaving me so frustrated I close the browser and go do something else.
It's been like this, on and off, for several days now and have held back mentioning it, in optimistic faith it's just a temporary thing and/or behind-the-scenes maintanence. Plus the fact no-one else is mentioning it but now, I'm convinced it's a server/network problem at the server end as all other web pages I browse are unaffected.
Hope you can help, thanks.

I believe the problem is caused by a leakage of treacle into the server Mike..
If not that then it'll be caused by England crashing out of the World Cup/The Heatwave/Government cutbacks causing a 25% reduction in bandwidth or maybe the roadworks on the M25...
I'm sure Xac will soon give a proper technical explanation...

It's been running ok for me for most of the day from work, but I'll give it a reboot when I eventually get home tonight around midnight.

The joys of having to decomission a server after hours in london.
The forum's host server has been up aboutva week and I've been using it remotely so it's about due a reboot.
Running fine now from my phone though

I got the delay again today, once at 9:28am and just now, about 10 minutes ago.
If I cancel/close that page then reclick the link it sometimes works immediately so it's looking more like a congestion issue IMO, which can be anywhere in the ether between here and there (obviously).

I'm getting delays from other forums/web pages too so it's obviously not FCF related. I'd call my ISP's customer support if I knew it'd help but their usual response is to doubt the customer's setup first even when I can prove the problem is outside my lan.dnsey wrote:There does seem to be a bottleneck of some sort at the moment. I've had similar problems with FCF and another, completely unrelated forum, where other members are reporting the same symptoms.

That's a page not found error, very strange.addo wrote:On this site only, I've been finding a lot of transient 404 errors.
Are you certain your ISP doesn't use transparent proxies like NTL/Virgin Media over here do?
