I have a T Reg, 1999 Scenic.
Yesterday, the electric window on the drivers side stopped working as I was trying to wind it up. The motor is still making a noise, sounds like it's turning, but the window is not moving. Fortunately I have been able to push the window closed.
This morning I was trying to remove the door panel to see what the problem is. I got as far as removing the door handle, window buttons, door pocket & speaker but couldn't get any further. (Can anyone post a link on how to completely remove the panel please ?)
On admitting defeat I went to lock up the car and found that I couldn't now close the passenger window ! Double disaster.
Nothing happening when I pressed the button on that door so I tried reattaching the button on the driver's door & they didn't work. On the passenger side there's no noise of the motor or anything & I can't push it closed. It's stuck about 2/3rds open. (Could I have blown a fuse ? All other electrics seem to be working.)
I went to my local garage and they are so busy they can't take the car in until Thursday, so now it's sitting on the street outside my house with the window open - easy to reach in and unlock the door from the inside. It has the factory immobiliser and a crook lock but that's about as much as I can do.
I'd appreciate any advice on how I could continue to try to fix either problem by myself, or how to get the passenger window to close temporarily.
[I called my insurers and they said I'd done all I could to make the car secure.]
Thanks all,
Earl
