Lexia Clones

Given that i've needed a lexia twice in the last 2 weeks i'm considering getting a lexia...

now i presume the best way to go about this is to get a clone?

If so which do i go for?

needs to be compatiable with my 99 xantia hdi

I'm thinking about buying one too, seems all the ones on ebay I've seen so far say they run on windows xp or 2000, my laptop runs win 7, anyone know if they will work or not with win 7

Software requires at least Intel Celeron/Pentium III 400 MHz, 128 MB RAM, 50MB free HDD space and USB 1.1 port (USB 2.0 recommended) and Microsoft Windows 98 SR2/2000/XP with the latest service pack installed.

so no windows 7?

no i mean as an example.....

dual boot is always do-able. interesting that it doesnt mention vista, if it doesnt support vista then 7 might be a problem.

if we get the a-ok then i'm more than happy to buy that and let you guys know how it goes

i might see if I can get an old laptop and use it purely for the lexia, looks a good price to me

I have a clone and am running it inside VMware on a virtual version of windows Xp, its a PITA but is do-able if you have a copy of Xp kicking around.

If you ultimate or pro versions you have the ability to run a VM without spending any money thanks to microsoft so could run an XP VM with the software installed in it and reduce its available resources to make it happy that its running on something super slow

I got mine from ebay, but had a problem in that the first one i got did not work.
Evidently other people had problems ad the seller is no longer selling them.

Just look for sellers with lots of good feedback , and make sure you have the correct cable for your car!

Software installation would likely be a PITA if you are not computer minded, but plenty of us on the forum can help!

Your better off paying the extra and getting a original lexia as the ones from china can and do crash/hang up are a pain to install/ have damaged ecus/ stop working half way through a session and you cant get upgrades for them. They look nice though for the price

Well i guess so, but anyone could etch actia on a board.
Personally unless you are a garage, i would go for a clone lexia from a seller with good feedback as its a damn site cheaper!
