Welcome in the weird world of green-blooded hydropneumatic Citroens [:)]
What's the yearmodel of this Xantia - any service records ?
First tasks would absolutely be (in order of importance) :
1) cambelt - any records ? if not - replace ASAP !!!!
2) engine oil & filter ?
3) fuel & air filters ?
4) hydraulic fluid reservoir filters - located rearwards LHS (car's) in engine bay. Release retaining hook - then lift up the whole assembly which receives all the rubber hoses. The now visible filtermeshes MUST be clean plastic wetted with the green fluid.
as far as i know, the SX model has rear door speakers?? anyway...the sound system is pretty standard, head unit has 20watt output channels i think, with 20 or 25 watt speakers(lol). in my dad there is components in the front, and 6x9's on the shelf, his is an LX. basialy, u will want a better head unit and speakers, start from scratch. might be a good idea to amp the front speakers, to make up for the rear if you fit amp'ed 6x9's.

My xantia has no rear speakers although i didnt really look. Was more of a dahm gd deal so snap it up, After hearing it and driving it of course. Anyway it has holes in the rear parcel shelf where sum1 has stuck 6x9's or were they originally in there? Whats styling options like for this sort of car? Ill be checking on the problems youve let me know about but im 90% sure the Cambelt was done 2k miles ago. But ill be checking. Cheers
P.S. Anyone from NE England?
