aftermarket wheels

Post by i3 »

hey all,, i was just wondering...i would like your opinions on these wheels... the xantia came with them when i purchased it,,i didnt like them at all first at all and was intending to replace with standard xantia wheels,,,but as i bought the car to drive rather than look at i wasnt too concerned,,,however,,, as i ended up spending more time looking at the car than driving,,,well,,they kinda grew on me,,, what do you guys think? should i replace them with standard xantia wheels? or keep them on? i actually really like the look of the standard xantia wheels....

Not to my personal taste.. but it's your car and you have to look at it etc.

If you go for Citroen alloys and they are 'centreless' you may regret changing from your aftermarket alloys. They can be a right pain to get balanced!

Anywhere around by me with decent tyre prices either refuse/can't balance them or want to charge an extra £10.0 for balancing. If it wasn't for the fact that It would effectively 'ruin the look' of a nice V6 Exclusive I would find myself a set of steelies... much less hassle.

I've got TSW on mine. They are just fine and I wouldn't go out my way to get the original Minilite type.

I third the view on those wheels...

I have a set of Exclusive Alloys you could have. They're taking up room on the patio.

They're centreless and yes, you will have fun finding a good tyre place who can balance them!

Those sorts of alloy wheels are great for showing off how small your rear discs are or that you've got drums on the back.

Fitting low profile tyres will be detrimental to the super ride you bought the car for.

Standard look better. I have after market on mine but not for the looks I just prefer the feel of them on the road.
Love my black v6 xant - only one with cream coloured leather too!

I took a test drive in a new C5 with optional 19" alloys, looked great but loads of tyre noise and thudding over ridges and potholes. If I wanted that I'd have bought a new Mondeo.
From that point on only looked at models with the standard 17" wheels.
