Also, Concord to fly again, maybe?
At least that is half-French :)

Sorry, but unfortunately the engines are the least of the obstacles to getting a Concorde into the air again. Until the manufacturer (now Airbus) is willing to support it, there isn't a hope. And if they were willing in 2003, it would still be flying (at least with BA) now.

I'm truly gutted that I never got the chance to fly in one. If I'd known that they were often carrying single-figure numbers of passengers, I'd have rung up and made an offer! :D

This really is wonderful news about Concorde :D

Anyway, whoever deemed the 'planes should never fly again back in 2003 should have been tried for treason..

The engines may be the least of their worries; I understand the hydraulics may present the biggest challenge, especially if they have been drained.

There, something we Citroen owners have in common with Concorde

Wonder how many gallons of LHM are in a Concorde

Pity its only for heiritage flights (no need for there to be off the shelf spares).
My manager at NTL had enough airmiles to either fly economy plus to New York and back with his wife, or send her via economy and take Concorde out :)
His wife was willing so I hope he took the flight :)

The trouble with scramjets though is that they don't work at low speeds, and need to be got airborne and upto sub-sonic speed by something else, but impressive anyway.
