I'm having V6 withdrawal as the old girl is still lifeless on my drive since being hitched back from the motherland. New doseur and associated pipe work is all fitted but having taken the decision to give the injectors a service I have been short on time to get the job done. Managed today to finish fitting the new bits to the injectors and put them back in the fuel rails.

Hopefully she will be up and running by next weekend, nice as the Kangoo is, it's a bit of a utility vehicle and it doesn't give the same driving pleasure as a Xantia. Hope there will be no ill effects from long term battery disconnection and depressurised hydraulics.

Think you have it bad? I haven't seen mine start and work since the start
of August last year where it decided to lock me out of the immobiliser.
Still being a tricky b*stard now even at the hands on a local Cit Indy
burning through my bank balance... :?

I fear it may never run and end up a source of spares; shame on a
60k mile car but I reckon it has me beat. :(

Compensation and to sate the withdrawal symptoms is a CX GTi Turbo2.

An Activa can be a good compensation too  :D

Possibly, but right up until your debit card gets a mauling at the
unleaded pump again in short thrift. I love Activae and currently
have x2 on the road but the bigger older heavier 2.5 petrol CX
turbo just feels so much better in performance AND more
importantly fuel economy!! ;)

OK, the CX will roll a bit more, doesn't have a hatch and stands
out more conspicuously but the buzz it gives when driving is
something else. Yes, I do need to drive a Xantia v6 again but
an Activa isn't the substitute I once thought it was...
