How can you adjust the idle speed when the throttle plate is fully closed ?
I checked for air leaks and it looks fine.
Car runs fine otherwise except for fast idle at 1,500rpm and revs don't always drop properly.
The idle-speed sensor may be at fault , so i blocked the manifold to see if it would drop the idle sufficiently , still too high.
What is the problem?
Idle control valve .
I sprayed wd40 to free it up as they get clogged , no luck!
Where do the 19 get air leaks ?
Top or manifold by the fuel rail, i wonder?
The idle valve, the signal it sends to the computer how does it vary the idle speed?
All it can do is vary fuel amount to injectors?
*Basic idle speed is pretty much dependent on the by pass opening set by the idle valve?
So in theory if there were no air leaks and the by-pass /idle valve was blocking ALL air flow it probably not idle at all?
That meaning there must be an air-leak?
I connect the valve and powered it up no movement , faint click.
Might pull the manifold off and check the gaskets on Monday
can someone help?
U guys got heaps of these cars in the UK we only got a few.
Cheers
