110 or 90 Hdi How to check?
Having owned a BX 1.9 D a few years back I'm keen to replace my aging people carrier with a decent car, the Xantia estate fits the bill and I've looked at a clean ex-fleet car a HDi SX estate. How can I be sure its a 110 not a 90Hp version.

Interesting information. I wanted to know that too, although the piggy bank isn't quite ready to take the plunge just yet...
Is there any way that one can tell "at a glance" which variant these cars are? I mean without poking around and opening things? I don't suppose the rear spoiler is a particularly accurate guide - probably plenty of 90s with these things tacked on ( AFAIK they were standard only on the 110s ).
I ask this because I'd ideally like to scoot around everywhere local(ish - plenty of Xantias around here) and make a shortlist of cars I feel are worthy of further investigations. I don't want to waste my time on the wrong model!
Stu.

It was a 110, picked it up at the w/e, talk about value for money it a Jan 2001 Xantia Hdi 110 sx estate for less than £4000, Ok its done 110K has full fleet service history, fluid changed 1 year ago, cam belt canged at 100k, but as it only does 3000 revs at 90mph its got to be good for at least 200k, the only fault I can find with it is a couple of bulbs on the heater controls have gone, otherwise its immaculate.
Does anyone reccomend a routine sphere change or do you wait till the ride deteriorates, which as it is gradual can be difficult to asses from what I've read in these pages?
