Hi, I want to buy this size because is more popular and of course cheaper. After some calculations seems the wheel diameter will increase about 9 mm. More comfort should be gained using this size?
Should expect any problem in fitting, could touch something under?
Thanks guys and happy easter!

Appears to be an advisory over here, mum's Xsara has just passed it's free MoT with different sized tyres on the front wheels.
Dad is rather peeved at F1 in Leighton Buzzard to say the least, and they're looking for the reciept so they can get the tyres replaced.

It would probably be advisable to question whatever regulatory bodies you have in Romania in case you infringe any local laws and have to put it all back the way it was to start with.viorelovidiu wrote:i want to do this change seeking for more comfort and less for money...
What applies here may be completely different in other countries.

Here in Romania? It`s a mess...
If any changes would have a negative impact for car in long terms... then I`ll stick with stock size and looking for softer compond and/or a lower speed indicator (I have 93W, maybe 93V or even 93H would increase comfort?)

Hi Xac, under the Sale of Goods Act, you do not need to show a receipt or invoice to claim, but if they are not readily to hand, anything like a bank statement, credit card slip, etc. which shows money was paid to F1 is sufficient proof, so your parents can claim for the mis-sold tyres. Even an approximate date is sufficient so the seller can check their records. I would assume that they even have the car registration somewhere in their archive.
If F1 get stroppy, site Trading Standards Office and get them involved. I'd even do that as a matter of course if F1 can incorrectly fit tyres.

The two sizes are within the recommended 3% difference in diameter so you should be OK with them
I don't see how you will get more comfort though because although they have a higher percentage profile the actual sidewall height will be the same.
It's worth noting your speedometer will read about 1.5kph slower at 100kph.
You will obviously be sacrificing some grip as well.
There is a handy calculator here.

Now I have 205 55 R16 Dunlop SP 01 91W with rim protection, very cheap and very good tyres. those tyres are soft and silent, very predictible and stable too.
MPG is less to by 1-2%
This tyresize seems to be ok, i`ve seen it on many large cars like VW Passat which are heavier than mine.

Re: 205 60 R16 instead of 215 55 R16
I don't understand why you like it. I had stock 205/55R16 on Citroen C4 II (B7) 2013, but they are hard and it causes accumulated cracks and damages over time to the suspensions system and often I need to do wheel adjustment because the low profile does not protect against potholes or bumps sufficiently. Also front tyres slip often because of smaller contact patch with ground.
Now I have 205/60R16 at front and it is much more comfortable and engine noise is lower and grip is much better. It feels more stable also. Tomorrow I will change also rear tyres to 205/60R16 and will inform you if it is worth it.
I was planning to test even 205/65R16 but Citroen C4 B7 doesn't have wheel diameter setting adjustment for speedometer accuracy through infotainment display which other models have.
Update: Now the car has also on rear wheels 205/60R16 and road noise is slightly less and it is a more comfortable ride. But road noise still is kinda high, it sounds like tire noise reverbating inside a tin can. It is still worth it.
