Activa Clutch broke
Almost home last night and went to change from 3rd to 4th, and clutch pedal went to the floor. (I knew something was wrong when she started screaming when the clutch pedal was pressed) Luckly managed to get it all the way home in 3rd. AA coming today to take me to garage.

+ easter holidays causing delays in parts being delivered.... not happy

There is a risk with the pushrod if the pedal went to the floor. Fingers crossed on that one that it's all recoverable, even if a bleed is needed. Thanks to HDI Dave, the knowledge of how to do that has noqw been shared
Against that, the ML5 is a tad heavier and bulkier...
In some ways Richard, the ML5 is easier than the BE3. None of that struggling getting the release forks to line up with the bearing for one thing.RichardW wrote: Not looking forward to the day this comes on my HDi 110

Its being done by my local Citroen specialist. He will take good care, he likes my Activa. He called it a classic today, made me think of getting a second car so not to put so many miles through activa.
But seems to be hardly anything going on autotrader. Had a browse for a cheap diesal exclusive xantia, but not a lot going. Thought of loan for a C6 but only 22 for sale now (was over 60 8 months ago), and i am not paying over £12,000 for a C6.
Going to be middle of next week i guess until its done with easter weekend.
or i would kill for another 3.0 V6 Xantia at a good price. Miss it so much

Ahem! Xantia for sale on here OK, it's 'only' an SX, but it sounds like a good 'un. I'd have it like a shot if it were an Estate. Y Reg too, so it qualifies for CO2 based tax, which means it's only £125/yr or something, compared to my X-reg, which was reg 5 weeks too early and costs £205 on the pre-CO2 taxationQuackers wrote: He called it a classic today, made me think of getting a second car so not to put so many miles through activa.

. OK it's not much, but it feels like you are getting one over on HMG. 50 MPG helps too

I can't say as I've seen yours about, but then again I don't think I've seen another Activa on the road, and I do keep a look out.Quackers wrote:never seen your activa riding around. will look out for you nowDommo wrote:Hey Quackers, I've just noticed you're from Newcastle under Lyme, I'm from Endon. Two fairly local Activa owners - I like it!
I don't often go near Newcastle to be honest, unless I'm going to Makro or something..

Well its fixed, new clutch and the ACTIVA system is now better than before.
Apparently the clutch change was a pain as all the extra ACTIVA stuff like the extra spheres got in the way, and so some of it had to be taken out to do the job.
Well i thought the feel was not right for the last year, but you kind of get paranoid with the Activa system so i let it be, but now it corners good again, and the stop lights go out in less than 2 seconds
So very happy, just a shame it burned £600 in my wallet
£300 labour for 6 hours, £165 clutch, full tank of LHM £25, and Gearbox oil, add the VAT and its one OUCH...
