Hi all, a bit of an update.
Since finding water in the foot wells of my Xantia and sorting out the causes of the leaks. I have been slowly driven mad by the alarm going off when the car is started up first thing in the morning.
I have been waiting for the interior to be totally dry to see if that would sort it. Well it's almost there and the alarm has still been giving me trouble.
I had the alarm ECU apart today to see if water had got inside. The connectors looked a little corroded and on looking inside, there was evidence of water ingress into and onto the circuit board...
I swapped the ECU with 1 that I had taken off a donor car at the scrap yard and low and behold, all looks as though it is working again.
On connection, the alarm sounded and I was able to turn it off with my key fob. Further more the indicators worked when I armed and disarmed the alarm.
Really chuffed.
Thanks for all the help everyone has offered on this issue and others I have had.
Next job to do is the steering rack gaiters.
