How much is it worth?

Unread post by kvic »

Hi just wondered if anyone can tell me how much a citroen c5 2.0 petrol 5 door hatch would be worth at the minute. Ive tried those get the price sites and theyre coming back with loads of different answers. It has full history, just had both gear cables and a new cat fitted, and only done 10000 miles in the past 2 years (69000) altogether. Just need a roundabout price really. dont want to rip myself off but I dont want to rip a buyer off either. Thanks

Is it a 2.0 16v or is it the 2.0 HPI unit? If its a HPI id be thinking twice, but the 16s are pretty good.

Its either an LX (black bump strips and wheel trims), SX (coloured bump strips, dual zone climate, 15" alloys) or Exclusive (odd velour seat trim, CD changer, cant think what else).

Best way to check for prices is have a look through autotrader for a similar car, though you will have to know what 2.0 petrol it is and what spec it is too.

For example if its a a 2.0 16V SX, the mileage is less than average, id say around £1500-£1700. Petrols are worth less than diesels as usualy, though prices for C5s do vary considerably, so pay as much as your happy with paying. If its an excellent condition and the model/spec you like, then its probably worth it.

Often the HPIs sell for less i find.

Thanks for that its a 16 valve sx. Thats quite a good price. We buy any car quoted me £700, and thats not gonna get me far buying a new car

New gearbox cables, brand new cat, but im hoping to find a new job (my job is only a mile away from me) and i need a diesel car thats cheaper to run and cheaper tax. Thanks for the reply

Didnt realise it was yours and your wanting a for sale price.

Its a good spec the SX, so will appeal. Though most/ a lot of people prefer these in Diesel forms, so it might take a bit longer to sell. Its its a tidy one and its got low mileage then i can see it selling for around that figure.

Autotrader are doing an offer at the moment, £40 for 3 weeks in the mag and on the web, its not a bad offer. Id put it up for £1700 and see what interest you have. Though dont quote me too much on the price, as im more diesel orientated, so best have a look for what similar cars are up for.

However id avoid 'we buy any car' at all cost. I put in the details on my SX HDi and got a stupid figure too, yours is worth much more than £700.

What MPG does your 16v do, out of interest?

Never go with we-buy-any-car! They quote stupidly low prices, and on top of that, they charge YOU for things like polish. Their prices are non-negotiable aswell.

Just the diabolical adverts are enough to ensure I never darken their doors.

I have no clue how many mpg it does. I only use it for work and taking kids to school. Far too big a car for me, Ive always had diesel cars, think it would be more suited to someone who drives a lot. Thanks for advice :)

Not that I'm getting rid of my Exclusive (I wouldn't dream of it :hb: ) but out of curiosity I entered my cars details into webuyanycar :missile: and the cheeky gits only offered me £70 minus the £30 admin fee = £40 in my sky rocket :!: :!: :!:

I can't believe how little they offered

My 2001 reg C5 HDI 110 lx with 204k on the clock is worth £390 according to webuyanycar

I will actually be selling it next week, but was hoping it was worth at least £500 ??, anyone know what sort of value it would be ?

It needs a new back exhaust box and has a vibration at high speed from the back right and the right indicator doesnt auto cancel any more, the plus points are 4 months tax and mot left, and it has been totally reliable over the years, the engine runs perfectly

Anyone want to guess at its value ?, i can then use that as the start price on Ebay next week !
