Heater blower on Fiat Ulysee

Unread post by Toby_HDi »

Right, I'm asking this here as the Fiat is practically the same as the Citroen Synergie.

The blower isn't working at all. Is this likely to be ignition contacts or the transistors? I've searched for the transistors on the forum as I recall someone posting a sort of how to for them.

Thanks
Toby

Toby,

I'd be inclined to make an initial assumption it's similar to a Xantia.

Have a read of the supersticky on the subject.

Transistors are up inside the blower motor casing.

Thanks Jim.

I'll have a look at the Fiat when I'm next round my parents

Hi Toby

If it turns out to be the transistors, I have a pair of new MJ11015 transistors available if you go down that route.

I bought them when my Dad's Berlingo got the same problem a month or two back, but when we got to pull the motor out it is a completely different setup and it was a thermal cutout/resistor that had failed (easy & cheap to replace fortunately!). Anyway I now have the transistors spare, was going to keep them in case my Xsara blower goes, but if you want them I could do them for £8 delivered. Let me know if you need them when the time comes.

Regards

Just looking through the Superstickys again before this is attempted.

Just a quick question.

If I disconnect the brown plug and short the pins, will this operate the blower and thus prove the igniton switch is the culprit? Or will I blow something up

Thanks
Toby

Assuming it’s got no air conditioning, if the speed control is set to spin, and the wiring is the same as in the Xantia map, then shorting the pins of the brown plug must start the blower.

In case of doubt, or fear of fireworks, a quick swipe with a piece of wire will either budge the blower motor, or cause healthy yellow sparks.
You can have both at the same time, but any move or sound from the blower motor means that you’ve got it right.
There’s nothing except the fuse to blow there.

I have tried it though, no joy. It does have air con but i did try moving all sliders.

Not to worry.
