Hi Activa nuts..
Ive had a call from a local Activa owner, he has seriously blown his turbo.. and so asked if I can supply and fit a replacement blower..
Ive dont this job in the XM, anyone know if its any easyer or harder to in the xantia, would I better removing the engine and box to do it..
Shes a 1996 N reg model..

In what way has the turbo blown?
before replacing, check the oil and water lines to it are clear and no blocked...
Now, this will be a similar sort of job to what Xac will be doing to replace his manifold gasket.
Space is seriously tight but I reckon it might just be possible if you remove the two large air pipes across the back of the engine and then remove the lower engine mount fork and the upper engine mount so that the engine can tilt well forward on a hoist, minding the rad.
It's not guaranteed it'll work but if it does, it'll save a lot of work in pulling the whole engine out.
When do you plan to try?

He was travelling upto Newcastle and he heard a bang, along with hoards of smoke and smell!! Its settled down now, starts and runs, but has no go in her!
The way things are going I haven't a bloody clue when Ill be dooing it, sooner rather then later..

No doubting the diagnosis then
I'd suspect an oil line blockage.
One thing, to help make room, remove the heat shield as an early job.
I'd start by disconnecting the cat at the manifold flange and get the turbo out complete with manifold and then separate turbo from manifold on the bench. It's held by four nuts but they are both hard to reach and seruisly tight.
