an related citroen question
iv got a totally unrelated question for you guys you have been so helpfull so far i thought i would try iv just finished doing up my sons 50cc twist and go moped but it has a problem it starts irratically sometimes ticks over ok sometimes stalls and when your riding it and open the throttle full the engine just dies hope you can give me some ideas to try im guessing carb probs and have cleaned the jets etc but still does it the bike is a xingaling qt50 (chinese rubbish) but we bought it off nepfew cheers

Classic fuel starvation symptoms. Muck in tank? A lump of crud stuck in the fuel line that gets sucked up against a reduction in pipe bore (like the push-on spigot on the carb.)? Float sticking (if it's got one) or hole in diaphragm?

Its worth looking to see if you have an inline fuel filter too, and if not you may find one in the actual pipe where it is fed out of the tank (as in the top of the pipe has a sort of mesh on it)
Other possibility is leaking inlet (between carb / head, probably just a thin gasket fitted there) although that would cause overheating too.

sorted boys
once again youve helped cheers the problem was the diapramm at the top of the carb wasnt seated properly i think the thottle part below was sticking as well (due to being stood for a year) because now the throttle is easier to twist the bike now does not die and responds better than what i thought it would again cheers
