Hi, my wife's '97 Scenic has just had new engine mounts as the hold ones had caused flex resulting in a cracked front exhaust section.
I went to put the new front section on yesterday, and noticed that it now fouls the subframe in front of the engine. The top of the front section also doesn't quite line up with the manifold any more.
It's as if the whole engine is tilted backwards by at least 5 degrees more than usual. The mounts appear to be fitted correctly.
Any clues? Is there supposed to be a spacer under the rear engine mount? This would lift the back and tilt the engine forward a little.
I've run out of ideas on this one!
Thanks
W
