Activa owners - what tyres are you on?

So why go for a 'W' rated?

Ask Citroen about the "W" rating, it's what they specified for the car, take a look at the O/S "A" post on your car, and you should see a tyre spec sticker.

"W" rated tyres are for a higher top speed, (when a 2.0CT eventually gets there

) but also have a stronger sidewall, which the Activa needs.

I took my Activa to the track with the H rated Gislaved tyres, and competed only about 5 fast laps because they overheated and started to lose pieces of the tread.

I was quite surprised to find that Michelin don't even do a suitable Activa tyre anymore!

Shame, because the Pilot Sport 2 is excellent.

P7's here for the last 10 months. they do let go in a straight line due to the tread pattern.
I had a mix when I got it, with V patterns that seemed to be better in a straight line.

IIRC they are rebranded Firestones.

I used to pass the factory in Gislaved almost daily and remember Firestone taking it over.

Juliet's running on Ceats, which I have to say I'm impressed with.
Need new tyres on the fronts though, and also discovered they're all V rated even though sticker says W, so will put rears on the front, new W rated on the rear and next month probably have to replace the fronts

Quick question though, what load rating should they be?

The Activa was designed for W's so if you can find them , fit them as they are better for it. Mine has been fine with V's on the front and the choice is much wider, i've been very happy with the Goodyear Hydragrips.

That's the plan, Kwik Fit (yes, I know) have W rated P7's for just under £84 online price fitted.
I take it 91 is enough load wise?

Thats what i have Xac in the 95 load rating.

its good in the dry but in the wet its not so good and snow is pretty poo.

next time i get a set of front tyres which should be in a few months, i'll be looking for something that has very good wet grip...
