This is my wifes poor Xantia, both her and my son were very very lucky to be unhurt in the crash thank god. Some little git in a Berlingo pulled out infront of her. He had no licience and no insurance GGGGGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Shame about the car, but it looks to have done an excellent job at absorbing the impact with no deformation of the cabin and of course, the airbag has gone off. At least the occupants were unhurt and thats the main thing, cars can be replaced, people cannot.

No wasnt a recent purchase, she had it a few years and to be honest was very attached to it, but i think it did an excellent job as far as protecting the acupants go.
What a (-expletive removed-)!!! I hate idiots who drive without a license and insurance I hope he gets a massive fine and gets put away for a long time. I hope the guy has to pay your wife and son comp straight out of his own pocket!

Sorry to hear of the accident - main thing is that family OK. Hope there are no lasting ill effects (as MyGlaren says, whiplash can take a while to show itself). Hope the B*****d gets his deserts.
Good to see how well the xantia protected the occupants. The bigger the car, the more metal, and the further away the other vehicle is when it first hits the bodywork.
Hi,
Hells Bells- that is a bad one. Glad to know your wife and son are ok.
Sadly, with all the compensation culture around , higher insurance costs mean more idiots are going to drive without cover to save money.
Draconian penalties must be levied to stop the rot spreading- car crushed, permanent loss of licence, and a good spell in clink. Then tagged on release.
Your wife was attached to her car, as was my son. He had his car for 3 years, and likely would have kept it another 3. It did all he wanted,- now he has to get another car, inheriting possible problems and unwanted expense.

She recons she was doing about 35-40 mph. When i arrived on the scene the police officers on site had to restrain me a little as I wanted to kill the guy who hit her. But after a quiet calming word from the plod I mearly wanted to permanantly maim him.
There's a type of person I run into from time to time, who is - bluntly - basically lawproof. You can whack them with all these penalties, yet soon as they're out on the streets again they could reoffend.
Oddly enough, not all are complete numpties; they just have some cognitive defect between what they do and what is the right thing to do by others... A couple of small strategic incisions might be one solution to spread of the problem, but that's likely to provoke community outrage!
Trooper - glad to see my guess on speed was close.
