Headlight mod

I did the headlight mod on main and dip beam today, also replaced the bulbs with some bettor ones.
WOW, what a differance it's made.

Thanks to all for the "how to".

What mod is that ?
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(
My past Citroens :-
'00 Xantia SX HDI, now dead due to accident :(

Headlights fed by new wires direct from the battery and controlled by relays attached to the old wires, gives them the proper voltage so they're brighter.
I need to do it to Juliet as being a S2, her dips are bloody awful.

Mine too, i would say they are worse than my old S1 although did have uprated bulbs which made a small difference.

Having never examined the wiring config for the headlights , what is the standard arrangement ? Are relays not used ?
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(

I think there's one overbearing relay, but the wiring between it and the headlights is long-ish and a bit on the mean side, gaugewise.

Wouldn't this mod put about 14.5V through the bulbs when the engine is running, gaining a few extra watts? But at the risk of bulb failure?

Automotive bulbs are designed to operate at 14.5 volts :wink:

Has anyone got a diagram of the mod, please.? Relays, wiring and me are total strangers. :D :? :hb:
