I fitted a Towsure towbar to my S1 TD hatchback couple of years back. Found I had to remove the spare wheel carrier and alter it's shape so as to clear the towbar right at the back end, but it was a bit awkward lowering the carrier to remove the spare. Also, whilst the old very worn spare slotted snugly into the carrier, I now have a spare with more tread, and this doesn't fit at all easily into the carrier. The tyres are standard 185 65 x 15"
