Bought a BMW R75/5 motorcycle many years ago and the reg was BMW 9L !!! The guy said I doubt I'll get very much for the bike without the plate so it's included in the sale !! It only had 2400 miles from new , he was the only owner and it was as new mint !!

Obviously I bought it , rode it for a cupla years then took the reg off , sold the bike with an age related for more than I paid for it and sold the plate for another £2k !! I don't often have luck like that !!

Was a beauty , I loved it !! Was white with black pinstriping and got so much attention , especially in France when I was at The Lemans 24hr or the Bol Dor. Really regret selling it. Have some pix somewhere , I'll dig them out and post them up.

I hate private registrations! Whats the point! They cost money . They don't impress me at all they are for posers! A good car is what impresses me on the road. Sell it to some posing mug!

Ahh thats better!

I have recently sold two numbers via EBay as I could not get rid of them through the usual channels. One was advertised for four year at a cheap price with not an offer. (XLR 797).
The number plate companies will give you an over inflated value to attract you to list it with them even though the chance of moving it on will be slim........but them having lots of numbers advertised makes them look to be a big dealer!
I would save your money and see if you can get a bit more cash from the buyer of your car?
You are right about being recognised with your plate......that can have its disadvantages!
Cheers!

I think ill leave it be actually, i can see me being stuck with it on retention and not being able to sell it.

I dont want to put it on the C5 as its such a faff on removing it each time and its of no importance to me anyway. I could put it on the C5 for £80 but my mind sets change on my cars and so im not sure how long ill have it. Its just an extra thing to have to think about if i do change cars.

Think ill leave it on the car and get the car advertised now.

Yes, people have spotted me everwhere as they know my number plate, usually commenting on how fast i was going. Blending in is better.
