Great deal on the sensor; cannot go wrong for that money! Glad to see
it's all sorted and lined up with your pops - fingers crossed for a happy
MOT pass.

Pictures can easily be hosted free with the likes of www.photobucket.com
There's a sticky on the main Citroen thread here:

Anyhow, its straightforward to use and you just need to post a link to the
picture in a thread using the IMG code.

Hi Chaps...

Happy new year to all of you..

Well my dads had the car now for a few months after it breezed throught the MOT, no probs what so ever...

I nipped out in it last night and could not believe the difference in the conventional cars I have been driving the past months...When you have not driven an Activa for a while the ride really gets ya...

So glad I kept her close by....

Cheers...

Gav....

Just read through this topic. Glad you kept the car Gav.

I get the feeling mine's going to be the most expensive Activa possible, needing both rams and a rear activa electrovalve :(

Ah well, it'll still be a relatively cheap car and should stay on the road for a good few years once up and running.

This is it, your car went 10 years before it needed those parts, so another 10 years or more actually as you're getting experienced in servicing the car and know what needs to be done rather than garages which often miss bits.

That's true Xac, and that's what you have to keep reminding yourself about buying rare and seemingly expensive to run cars like these. Buy the parts once, spend a maximum of 1500 quid, run it for 2-3 years, top up the spheres if necessary, run for another 2-3, etc etc.

I can still see the '98' stamp in the rear ram so it's safe to say it's never been changed.

When I look at how much I was paying for my Laguna II and Meganné II it's shocking.
£300-450 a month in payments, then the obscene servicing charges, and for the Laguna £120-150 every time the "fuel injection system faulty" warning came on while I was on the motorway causing me to pull onto the hard shoulder to reboot, and get a puncture. I think of the 5 times that happened, only once was the hole far enough from the side for a repair, and the last time the jack slipped, the car fell backwards onto the jack breaking it under the wheel that I'd thankfully not removed all the bolts from!

So basically I was paying the equivalent of a 2nd hand Xantia each month.
So when Cassy, Jenny or Juliet cost me a couple of hundred quid to replace something, or for the initial outlay to get them back to full working order, it's a pittence compared with any other cars, and the joy of owning them far outways the cost too :)
