MoT Stats for 2007

Makes some interesting reading, especially under the Xantia section which registers quite a few very late registered ones and some very early registered ones too :P

Would the figures for passes/failures read as the same cars that subsequently
came back and had a retest - from these figures usually the fall off rate for the
difference seems reasonably narrow.

Those GS/A and Cx figures are depressing although not entirely unexpected.
I have a few 1973/4 1220 Gs's which would complicate the chart somewhat!

Im quite suprised at the large difference between the amount of XMs that have been MoT'd. Thought there were many more still running around the whole country!

And erm...I have also just noticed something that I should have seen before in the article where I found the link, leave you lot to pick it out

Ah a BX 16v? Thats not a silver Xm just past it is it, the front wing looks very similar and its quite low ...

Nice to see Citroen dont feature amongst the top 12 mot failures.

It would seem Xms are dying out, i too had thought there must be more than that still on the road and running. I bet there is far less now, especially after the scrappage scheme

I have a 1975 Jaguar XJ-S in storage in NZ, but there are NONE left on the road in the UK! There were originally about 200 of them, I know of one in a barn awaiting restoration...

Goddammit Kev!! :D

I re-read the article 3 times over reading into everything anything with a
hidden meaning and didn't spare a thought for the picture - odd because as
a graphics guy I normally look at the picture first.

I'd say it's an Xm and possibly an Ax in the gloom of the background. Likely the
only British MOT picture on file with Getty Image Source which depicts a
Citroen workshop. Is that big red trolley the almost mythical beast, a pukka
original Lexia!?

Yes id say your right Andrew, it does look like an AX. That picture must be at least a good 15 years old

How on earth can a 2007 Xantia fail - it's too young for it's first test!
And ONLY x8 1989 first of the series Xm's passed! :?

The Brakes Failiure is SCAREY!!! VERY Scarey!

Isnt it interesting how Body Structure fares quite well, except on the ZX's.. The Xantia records are quite good.. but still brakes..

Prehaps its because MOT Testers dont understand the "Different" setup on Hydraulic Citroen systems...

More likely it's due to the dreaded ABS warning light........... :x

It does make for interesting reading actually, though i had not quite realised how few good citroens are still on the road, or at least were in 2007, no doubt the figures are lower now.

Our Xm estate passed its test today, just the parking brake was a little weak, but other than that, its all good.
