When i bought my Seat 3 years ago it came with a private reg: L9MPG. I had become used to the reg and everyone knew it was my car (sometimes thats not a good thing!). So when i sold that car i retained the reg on retention, which is around £100. I didnt put it on the 52 reg C5, but when i got the 206 i put my private reg on there.
Now im selling the Peugeot and im not sure what to do with my reg. My options are:
- Sell the Peugeot with the reg on
- Put the reg on retention and keep it for later or sell the reg (worth around £400-£500)
- Transfer the reg onto my new C5.
Thing is i really need to get the 206 advertised but im not sure if the reg is going with it or if i should keep it. Its a lot of hassle, £80 to swap to the C5 or £100 for retention. Ill have to send the 206s logbook away which will delay its sale too.
Though i do quite like the reg and everyone i know knows its my car. Though ive gotten into a habbit of swapping cars and it makes it harder if the car has a private reg. Though i should really keep this one a while.
The reg doesnt mean anything to me, which is why im having second thoughts about swapping onto my cars. Though people do know it as mine and ive had a lot of comments about it since ive had it. Less than 9 Miles Per Gallon most people say
What does anyone think, do you like private registrations?
I know its up to me but it might help me decide
Chris.
