Very nice pictures 8)

I walked over that bridge about a month ago, does look much better at night i must say, if only it went somewhere you would like to go

We have had similar snow here just the last few hours, about 4-5", roads are now quite bad in some places of the town. Which is an improvement as tea time the roads were turning to ice, cars slding everywhere. My C5 is still performing well in the snow too.

Any more snowy pictures anyone?

Ive not got any car snowy pictures but i have got some of the scenery from earlier when out walking the dogs, might see how they turned out.

Hi all

Well i after work tonight i stopped in to pick up swmbo and we went up onto the downs road ive been driving back and forth to work on all week as its closed so there is no idiots about on it which makes life so much easier traveling, sorry about my ugly mug being a big child i thought i would jump into some big drifts along the road for no real reason, the last one is of the xm in the garden the first night we had snow which was monday i think, got to take here out after work tomorrow to stretch her legs a bit.

I do like all these arty bridges, towers and wheels that have popped up in recent years, you could argue they are a waste of money but they are easy on the eye so i can let them off for that

So the snow there is that thick dean??? my goodess!

i saw that paignton video on youtube, shouldn't have jumped out like that really, car could have run you over, that hill must have been frozen solid with sheet ice to be that bad... apparently he was warned not to go down there but he still did

i know it's pointless braking but would it help at all if people put the car in reverse, not that one in particular but in a slow skit on level groud? and reverse while going forward? i always wondered this when i've been skidding in snow... or do some gentle kerbing of the front wheels

and seeing as some of us have a xm or xantia, it'd be cool design some kind snow plough to put on the front of the xantia that attaches when the car is level so when you drive you plough too, and if you don't want the plough for a bit, just life the car up... etc or even design some kind of hydraulic ram that when the car detects braking but no slowing of speed, can come down vertically behind the front wheels with spikes on it to create friction on the concrete, it will be aerodynamically v shaped so it will cut through the snow on it's way down/forward

No that was just what the drifts are like in exposed places, the snow is like it is in the second picture now with more falling now, the best thing to do on ice is nothing, brake as much as you can, enter the gradient at walking speed tops and you will get down fine, enter too fast or lock the wheels at all and you will start to get into trouble pretty quick, of course going up hill you need to get a good run at it and back off the throttle as wheelspin accures then go back on, on ice you should be able to get anywhere a 4b4 can, snow is a different story though and so is slow speed manouvering.

I am taken by your hydraulic snow plough idea..................... get it patented quick

More good pictures, ive not seen it up close at night.

Well i had the idea of walking the dogs at the tessbarage about a month ago, it wasnt long before i realised why i had not been to walk there before

I parked at the barage carpark and walked down past the uni/college and crossed the brigde, there is absolutely nothing at the other side, ive no idea where it is supposed to lead to or why its there - maybe for the uni access but it doesnt go anywhere you would want to be to my knowledge. Anyway so i crossed it and walked down the other side of the bankway which is a bit of a mess and litter everywhere. Then back to the barage and over the little bridge there. I wouldnt recommend it as a scenic and wont be going again

Can you believe people were actuallly walking of forzen ponds! One person with their child was actually bouncing up and down on it. Erm, what do these people think of

That is very sad. I dont know why people think its not going to break, and if it does do they think they will not go through :?
