For my birthday I got a Lexia3 (evolution) shipped from China. It came with Lexia v45 software. 8)

I have only checked it briefly on one of my cars (too cold outside), but it communicates with at least a couple of ECUs.

I have a wiring diagram CD 22, but it appears that Lexia software versions after v42 won't display wiring diagrams from the CD, so I am looking for v42. :(

There is available on the internet a "Lexia v42 emulator" software package, which will apparently read the wiring diagrams, but it reportedly won't co-exist on a PC with a real Lexia interface.

I suppose I could install the emulator and diagrams on a different PC.

I take it CD22 was a typo
Stick with CD 42 anything after that has limited features unless you have a dealer login & its a genuine activated copy. CD 42 is by far the best version for a home user.

CD22 was a typo, it is actually DVD22, it is the wiring diagrams DVD (but I can't tell you what is on it until I get CD42).

I have decided that I am going to try and purchase a Lexia so that I can do all of my maintenance myself.

I need it to function on the following cars:

2000 Citroen XM Series 2 V6
2000 Citroen Xantia Series 2 HDi
1998 Citroen Xantia Series 2 Activa
1997 Citroen Xantia Series 1 V6
1993 Citroen XM Series 1 V6

and other family members cars too:

2003 Peugeot 406 Coupe V6
2003 Citroen Saxo 1.1
2003 Peugeot 307 1.4
2000 Peugeot 306 HDi
2009 Citroen C3 1.1

Is there a model that will cover all of the above?

I'm not really to clued up on them I'm afraid!

Thanks

David.

Any lexia should work with all the older Citroens, but make sure you are getting one with the 30 pin adapter cable for pre-1998 cars. Some are supplied without this adapter, which costs around £30 to buy separately.

All of the Lexia 3 currently on Ebay seem to be "evolution" version, these have Peugeot and Citroen logos, and are grey in colour. The original Lexia 3 was black and worked with only Citroen.

Ideally you want V42 lexia software, but most are now supplied with a later version (which has limitations unless you have a dealer account). Earlier software versions are readily available separately.

My Lexia 3 came from an ebay seller "eshop-medical", it arrived with a 30 pin adapter, and the earlier 2 pin adapter.

Thanks for that!

I've looked at that seller and he has then ranging from £129 to £190!

Will need to sit down and have a look to see what the differences are when I'm not in work!

I found the descriptions very confusing, so had to send a question about the 30 pin adapter, I don't know if the 30 pin adapter is included in all his units, or just the one I asked about. Watch the postage charges on the cheaper units.

Right,

I know for the Series 1 XM I need a 2 pin adapter.

For cars pre 2001 (Xantia's, XM's and 306's?) I need a 30 pin adapter.

What do I need for cars after 2001?

There is such a bewildering array with them I'm confused!

EDIT: I believe this is where the OBD2 connector comes in!?

Once I know what I need I'll email a seller and ask what package they have that meets my needs.

David.

A 16 pin EOBD "rounded rectangle" one, although this was used on Xantia's from 98 onwards (S2 models).
