Arrrrrrgh !!!

Post by HDI »

The fog light fcukwits are out !!! We have a bit of mist with no real reduction in visibility and they have front and rear fogs on like visibility was down to 3 car lengths or sumat !! And they don't even turn them off when your following at a normal distance !! Errr , hello , I'm right on your tail and can obviously see u and have been able to for the last 2 miles but u still think you need your rear fogs on , dickhead !!

Worst of all , they'll still be on in 5 days time , even in daylight !!

Soz , rant over !! :x

It should be pretty simple these days to have the rear foglights turn off automatically at, say, 40mph.

If you can see far enough ahead to drive at that speed then you don't need them, simple.

Perhaps this simple rule could be incorporated into the highway code, and pushed on the telly instead of the adverts telling us how healthy it is to run kids over at 30mph.

I'll second all the gripes here and add one of my own.

HID headlight conversions in cars never designed for them

HID headlights, along with those hideous, glaring daylight running lights seen on Audis and the like should be banned forthwith and every car having them summarily crushed.

and another , those who will insist on washing their windscreen when they see it's dirty driving into the sun but don't have any consideration for those following who then get their windscreen sprayed !!! Why don't they just check their rearview mirror to see if there is anyone behind them first ??!!

And another *on a roll* ,

those who don't indicate when turning , lane changing , exiting a roundabout or in fact any time !!

Waiting at traffic lights; you're in the RH lane behind another car waiting to go straight on.

The lights change and then he sticks his RH indicator on.

Aaaaaargh.

At times like that you wish you were in a Chieftan tank and roll right over the ignorant tw@t. No-one would miss him.

Excellent post, i agree with it all

Jim, i too hate those day time running lights, what a stupid idea. Though unfortunately its going to be made law from a certain year that every new cars must have them fitted. So i believe. Chavs lights i call them, Audi drivers do seem to be getting far worse drivers too ....

A lot of new cars have such bright headlights, they come towards you and it looks like they have their full beam on, when infact its just the headlights. This might give better vision, buts its blinding for oncoming cars

Audi's are the new Volvo's !! The Swedes are to blame for daytime running lights ! Doesn't stop the clowns from muppet driving and causing accidents though !

I have a particular dislike for Volvos that I still haven't got over.

It goes back to the Volvo 144/145 when they really started piling on the ugly bumpers so that their drivers could survive a (probably self-induced) accident. These passive measures were entirely to the detriment of the handling of the cars.

I remember I once one of the 2xx series on the back of a transporter. It had been involved in an accident and the body was quite badly damaged. The bumpers were in near perfect condition though!

Then, with 7xx series, they really went for the American market with some absolutely diabolical styling. They hurt my eyes to see them on the road - thank goodness they didn't sell very well

When the daytime running lights first appeared I took a perverse delight in flashing them to tell their headlights were on!

Yes, that strip of LEDs on each headlight is ugly beyond belief.

I've still yet to hear a legitimate reason why a car would need it's front fog lights on but not the rears.

Or why some idiot decided to put the indicators either side of the grill rather than keep the safer option of the corners of the car.

As for amber lights on the side of a car, why? Lorries and other long vehicles yes, but on a car it looks like an indicator.

I've seen a *%&$head every day for the last couple of weeks with red LEDs at either side of his FRONT number plate! And I keep thinking that if I've seen him so many times, why haven't the POLICE seen him and had it sorted?! Potentially very dangerous, especially to pedestrians. :x
