Hi,
What is the 2.0i Xantia like (phase2), especially in Auto form?
I have my eye on something.
Whats the 2.0i Xantia like?

Dunno, but Steve the skaterboy seems pretty pleased with his.
I had a 2.0i auto 8v VSX with mechanical box, lovely car but just a bit slow, I guess the 16v with the AL4 would be a bit more lively.

It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I'm right

The 2.0 16v is a good engine, reasonably economical too. Our 2.0 16V automatic XM (not adaptive box) gets around 30-35MPG, not bad for a large car, Xantia should be better i would think and should be quite nice with the adaptive gearbox too.
If its a manual then in my opinion thats even better. Our 2.0 16v manual Xm would get 40MPG and even more on a long run, was quite amasing on fuel for that kind of car and the engine with the manual box pulled very well, needs reving above 4K to get it really going though, at which point it does go very nicely. However its not all about revs, it pulls nicely from low down and sounds nice too. With a manual you can really make the most of it. Though im sure the adaptive auto is just as nice.
Certainly worth a look
Chris.

Niot had much chance to drive it yet but SWMBO is very impressed with our 2.0i 16v VSX
When i have driven it seems like it has plenty of get up and go and it is a manual so have been very pleased with the MPG it is returning.
SWMBO does about 110miles pw around town and i reckon she is getting about 33mpg about the same as i got in the 1.9TD towing a caravan to Scotland and back

As you can see from my signature, mine has all the toys. In particular, I find on a run that the cruise control gives excellent m.p.g.. The engine has plenty of grunt and uses very little oil between changes. The AL4 box never ceases to amaze me with the way it constantly adapts to your style of driving. All in all a superb drive.
