MK1 or MK2 Xantia

Post by MikeT »

Is there a site I can enter the reg and discover which model it is? I have a vague memory of something similar but unsure what details it gave.

On a sidenote, I saw there's a mobile app that takes a reg number and shows the details. Playing with it, one owner tapped in a Range Rover reg and it came back as a BMW convertible :?

I'm sure you can do it Service Citroen.

I'll check now

EDIT: My bad, that provides a VIN search. Not Reg number

Go to www.Eurocarparts.co.uk website, there's a little section where you put in a reg number in and it filters out all the products based on the 'said' car, it will even show what type of engine it is, colour, year, model, make, engine size.

Hope that is what you want.

There is a tax one as well, http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/ and go to the vehicle enquiry sign.

P934 ECF

I entered the reg into the ECP site but I could not see any mention of the Series, but as the owner has since identified his V reg as a MK2, I think we can be sure it's a MK1 he's scrapping.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Ah well, as they say if you don't ask..
Seems just about any company can get access to the DVLA database without having to conform to their T&C's, as I found out recently.

This will be 99.9% a MK1.

Most UK Citroens sat for between 3 to 6 months before registration around that year so it is likely a 1996 model registered on a 97 plate.

Apart from that most MK2 Xantia stuff we have on file starts 1998
